"Toy Story 3" Details Revealed at Cannes Debut of "Up"

Some details about the storyline for Toy Story 3 were revealed during the premiere of Pixar's Up at the Cannes Film Festival, confirming earlier rumors that the movie would show what happens after Andy, the toys' owner, grows up and goes to college. Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter stated, "Toys are put on this Earth to be played with by a child," and added, "The thing they worry about the most is all the things in life that prevent them from being played with, and probably the thing they fear the most is being outgrown."
Toy Story 3 is currently scheduled for release on June 18, 2010.
(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article mistakenly stated that Toy Story 3 was slated for release on October 2, 2009. This is the release date for the 3-D version of the first Toy Story movie.)
