On December 31st, 2007, Noggin and The N will become their own separate 24-hour networks, previously having shared the same channel. Noggin will be commercial free and continue to deliver preschool-centered programming such as "Little Bear", "Franklin", "Dora the Explorer", and many more, while The N will be ad-based and feature shows aimed at tweens/teens.

The N will consists of TEENick programming during the day and The N programming in the evenings. In addition to previous series like "Degrassi", "Instant Star", and "South of Nowhere", The N will feature four new series: "About a Girl", a scripted comedy series; "Interns" (working title), another scripted comedy series; "Gigantic" (working title), a dramedy about teens growing up in the shadow of Hollywood stars; "Queen Bees" (working title), a reality series. Outside of "About a Girl", which premieres on 10/5/07, all of the above are expected to appear in 2008. "Degrassi" will also be getting a made-for-TV movie called "Degrassi Spring Break Movie", coming in April 2008. Finally, The N has acquired "That '70s Show" (coming in June 2008), joining "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills".

The N will take the place of Nick GAS, which will become a broadband service for TurboNick. Currently all cable providers, DirecTV, AT&T Universe and Verizon FiOS plan to carry both networks.
