First Official Image of 2008's "Transformers Animated"

 Cartoon Network and Hasbro have announced Transformers Animated, a new 2-D animated series centering on the battle between the heroic Autobots and the villainous Decepticons, to air on Cartoon Network in early 2008. A 90-minute special and a full 26-episode season has been ordered. Matt Youngberg (Teen Titans, The Batman) was named as the supervising director, Derrick Wyatt (Teen Titans) will provide the character designs, and Marty Isenberg (Danny Phantom, X-Men, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) will be the head writer. Sam Register (Ben 10, Teen Titans) will be executive producer. Cartoon Network has also released the first artwork from the series (above right); click for a larger image.
