Walt Disney will continue to release two Platinum-edition DVDs per year, and plans to repeat the cycle of releases when high-definition DVD is established, UltimateDisney reports. The company is also set to release more direct-to-video releases, which have given Disney triple-digit returns on its investment.

UltimateDisney also reports that Disney has twenty CGI-feature projects in various stages of development and is vowing to make more films based on Pixar-created characters. It also plans to produce Broadway stage productions based on the animated films Tarzan and The Little Mermaid.

The revelations were made during a conference call, and UltimateDisney has many more details on plans at the Mouse House.
