Joe Kubert Rallies for Return of Ex-WB Animator's Holocaust Art

Comic creator Joe Kubert has issued an open request to the creative community on behalf of Dina Babbitt (formerly known as Dinah Gottliebova), who is currently battling a Polish museum over works of art she made for the infamous Dr. Josef Mengele at the Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Mengele apparently spared Babbitt's life so she could paint portraits of Gypsies on whom he was conducting his "experiments." Babbitt worked in the animation departments for Warner Brothers and Jay Ward Productions after the war was over, and just discovered that the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum had recently acquired several of her paintings.
Kubert asks that any cartoonists, animators, and comic book artists who wish to support Babbitt's efforts to obtain her artwork back should "send an email to the Wyman Institute's director, Dr. Rafael Medoff, at: rafaelmedoff@aol.com."
