New Shows:

Pokemon: Johto League Champions

ImageImageThe Pokémon trainer's quest is to get to the top and stay there. That's just what Pokémon: The Johto Journeys has done. It's the top series on Saturday morning, beating all comers including cable.

Building on last year's hit Johto Journeys, this season welcomes a new chapter: Johto League Champions. Ash, Misty and Brock will be tested to the limit as they seek the highest goal of the Pokémon trainer, meet more never-before-seen Pokémon, and fact the 8 Johto League gym leaders.

As more and more of the Pokémon world is unveiled, we can only advise you to keep your Pokéballs ready: the phenomenon continues with 52 episodes of Pokémon: Johto League Champions, airing twice on Saturday mornings this fall.

The Mummy

ImageImagine the perfect childhood: traveling the globe with your parents... excavating ancient ruins... and fleeing for your life from a hostile mummy!

Based on the blockbuster feature film franchise "The Mummy" and its sequel "The Mummy Returns," this new animated series puts Rick and Evy O'Connell's 11 year-old son Alex front and center. In the premiere episode, Alex mischievously puts on the all-powerful "Manacle of Osiris," and can't get it off his wrist. This sets off a race around the world to find the sacred Scrolls of Thebes (the manacle's "instruction manual") before the family is located by Imhotep, the mummified spirit of an evil Egyptian high priest, who is also in search of the Scrolls and the Manacle. The fate of the world is at stake, and Alex O'Connell has to save it.

The Mummy combines round-the-world exotic locations of the 1930s with a contemporary attitude, and unwraps plenty of kid-friendly comedy and high adventure. The series is produced by Universal Television, and will air Saturdays this fall.

Cubix

ImageImageIn Bubbletown, there's a robot for everyone. And it's your robot, not your zip code or make of car, that determines your status here.

When Andy, a 13 year-old robot-whiz, moves to town, he hooks up with a cyborg-loving gang that hangs out at The Bottie's Pit, the local robot shop. Intrigued by an "unfixable" junk robot called Cubix, Andy resurrects it through sheer perseverance and discovers an awesome mechanical friend that can transform itself into numerous devices. Cubix is incredibly strong, and incredibly loyal to Andy and his buds. When the evil Dr. K, Bubbletown's mad scientist, starts stealing robots in search of a mysterious power source called Solex, Cubix and the kids prove to be the only force that can oppose him... and new heroes are born.

An effervescent, innovative series with a fantastic CGI look as bright and fun as its characters, Cubix has a spirit and heart as powerful as the super-robot it's named after. It's a futuristic story of action, adventure and an uncommon friendship.  Cubix is produced by From 4Kids Productions, Inc., the same team that brought Pokémon to Kids' WB!, and will air Saturday mornings this fall.

The Nightmare Room

"I see The Nightmare Room as a fun house. You step inside this place, and everything seems normal at first. And then you look and you see the floor is tilted. And then it looks like the walls are closing in on you... you're not in your old reality".
--R. L. Stine

ImageKids love to be scared as much as they love Saturday mornings. And nobody does it better than R. L. Stine.

This new live-action series (the first ever for Kids' WB!) will take viewers to a world beyond reality... where nightmares just might be real. A world where ordinary eyeglasses reveal the masks people hide behind, lies come true with eerie results and a school locker with the #13 brings the worst luck of all. Based on R.L. Stine's hit book series published by Parachute/Avon Books, and adding new stories written just for Kids' WB!, The Nightmare Room is guaranteed to keep kids creeped-out to their heart's content. Each episode will be a stand-alone story with its own cast (including big-name guest stars), taking viewers into an alternate reality where ordinary occurrences can suddenly turn into the most extraordinary, scary experiences.

The Nightmare Room builds on R.L. Stine's reputation as "the Stephen King for kids" and the master of "safe scares." This series is a powerful double-whammy, featuring Stine's talent with a strong cross-promotion from his books. Produced by superstar team Tollin/Robbins ("All That," "Kenan & Kel," "The Amanda Show," "Cousin Skeeter") in association with Warner Bros. Television, it promises to raise a lotta hair on Saturday mornings.

Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century

ImageWho's the greatest detective of all time? In any century, the answer is elementary.

To break 22nd century New London's sudden crime wave, Inspector Beth Lestrade of New Scotland Yard brings Sherlock Holmes back from the dead as a young 25-year-old man. She even provides him with an android programmed with the personality of his loyal friend and associate, Dr. John Watson. The hi-tech future will take some getting used to, but there's one familiar thing to help Holmes orient himself: his archenemy Moriarty has been resurrected, too, with nothing less than world domination on his agenda. The dynamic detective duo and their partner Inspector Lestrade dare to solve the unsolvable in every mystery-packed adventure. Holmes and Watson will be tested as never before.

Melding 2-D animation with stunning 3-D CGI backdrops, each action-packed story is inspired by an original Conan Doyle classic, updated for today's kids. There's plenty of problem solving and deductive reasoning to challenge young sleuths, too. Holmes and Watson are about to create a whole new generation of fans. Sherlock Holmes In The 22nd Century is co-produced by DIC Entertainment and Scottish Television, and will air weekday mornings this fall.

Phantom Investigators

ImageKids shouldn't investigate paranormal phenomena... unless you're really good at it. If you're a natural, you can't let your gift go to waste. Besides, aren't parents always telling you to live up to your potential?

Meet Prunella, Casey, Jericho, and Nakisha, the coolest sleuthing team on the air. Ever since Prunella Damone found her grandmother's phantom-detector in the attic, this 7th grade team of phantom-finders has been solving supernatural mysteries and catching creatures from the world beyond. They have managed to do all this with their own personal extraordinary abilities paired up with high-tech poltergeist-detecting gadgets, ghost-chasing vehicles... and a little help from a gang of cohorts that are not exactly human. For any and all problems -- from possessed skate-boards to zombie pizza delivery guys -- just call 555-PHANTOM, and this tight-knit crew of friends is on the case.

With its lively attitude toward the afterlife, this series features a totally unique look that blends cel-animation faces with elaborate stop-motion environments. You don't need a ouija board to know it's got major hit-potential. Phantom Investigators is produced by Wholesome Products, Inc., and distributed by Sony Pictures Family Entertainment Group. It will debut later in the 2001-02 season.
