The legend of
The Powerpuff Girls began when Professor Utonium set out to create the perfect little
girls in his laboratory. He mixed in all the right ingredients - sugar, spice and
everything nice. But when he accidentally added a mysterious fourth ingredient, Chemical
X, Professor Utonium created the world's cutest superheroes, The Powerpuff Girls. Now,
every time danger threatens their home of Townsville, these darling crimebusters fly in to
save the day. And, like all good girls, they always do it before bedtime.
Nominated for
an Emmy Award in 1999 and 2000 and named one of TV Guide's Top 10 New Kids Shows,
"The Powerpuff Girls" airs five times a week on Cartoon Network. Called
"perfectly drawn, perfectly written and perfectly voiced" by Los Angeles Weekly,
the animated series is continuously a top-rated program with broad appeal among both boys
and girls and has a loyal teen and adult following. "The Powerpuff Girls" was
the first Cartoon Network original series to celebrate a home video release.
And another
article on the same site provides some information on the upcoming VHS release of the
TV movie Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip:
For the
first-time ever, Dexter, the boy genius, debuts on video in his very first feature-length
movie "Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip." In this video, Dexter is literally beside
himself as he launches into a history-warping, gadget-filled mission to save the future.
The time-hopping action commences as Dexter journeys far into the future to retrieve his
all-powerful Neuratomic Proto-Core. Stolen by arch-enemy Mandark, Dexter's prized
Proto-Core is being used to dumb-down the entire planet - leaving vile Mandark in charge.
As a bonus,
each "Dexter's Laboratory: Ego Trip" video will feature episodes from two
additional Cartoon Network originals, "Dial 'M' For Monkey" and "Justice
Friends" for more than 70 minutes of Cartoon Network programming.
"We are
excited to release the first home video from 'Dexter's Laboratory' and debut 'The
Powerpuff Girls' on DVD," said Ewa Martinoff, Warner Home Video Vice President of
Family Entertainment Marketing. "These releases will make an excellent addition to
the growing Powerpuff Girls video collection."
