According to a post on Ain't-It-Cool-News, the delay of Return of the Joker may be due to censorship of scenes that were dubbed excessively violent. Even worse is that, of all people, the ones who allegedly complained about it were the WB Network executives! This leads to speculation about the previously-announced outtakes on the DVD. For what it's worth, the "official" explanation for the delay is that, rather than cutting scenes, they're actually adding more to the DVD version. We can only wait and see...
