Fantasia Arks
Log onto uStream on Wednesday, August 27th at 9:30AM to watch and discuss a series of marathon comic inking with the creator of Fantasia Arks: The Phasmatis Crisis as he recreates the first two chapters of the story tirelessly!

To paraphrase Dave Reynolds, artist of ShadowGirls on the amount of work being done: "I do about 110 full color pages a year, but doing 200 black and white, graytoned in a matter of months...is just borderline "You've looked at Cthulhu."

New WB Video Games at E3
Sat May 13 19:56:30 2000

This year's Electronics Entertainment Expo is wrapping up, and the companies have shown a boatload of games. I checked the coverage at ign.com, and was blown away by the sheer volume of stuff out there. There are a few WB-related games out there, and I'll run them down for you.

Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 century: Infogrames for the Nintendo 64. Yep, a Duck Dodgers game! You'll be squaring off against Marvin the Martian in a very cartoony 3-D environment. The company's been working on this one for a while, and I've heard a lot of good things about it. It's very true to the cartoons... if you get shot, Daffy's bill will spin around his head. Cool!

Check out http://www.accolade.com/games/duckdodgers_n64/ for more info.

Looney Tunes Racing: I forget which company for the Playstation. Pretty much Mario Kart with Looney Tunes thrown in. Although I did see a desert landscape with Wile E. riding an ACME rocket, so I'll keep my eye on this one.

Batman (final title to be determined): Ubi Soft for various platforms. Apparently, this one's going to revolve around the Batmobile and its various gizmos as Batman chases down Arkham's finest over 50 levels. And yes, it's done in the animated style.

Pokémon Gold/Silver: Nintendo for the Game Boy. In this game, Ash and Picachu recruit bales of cute critters in an attempt to brainwash children away from worthwhile pursuits and gain their money. At advanced levels, you'll be able to siphon money from their parents directly as their kids whine for "just one more card pack so I can get that holo-foil Charizard, PLEEEEEEEEEASE!"

Hey you, Pikachu!: Nintendo for the N64. For those of you who have always wanted a polygonal yellow rat with a lightning bolt up its kiester for a pet. Feed him, play with him, and spank him (I hope). You'll also be able to talk to him, as the game comes packaged with a voice recognition unit. That way, you'll be able to issue commands to him. No word as to whether you can tell him "Get into that microwave!" or "Drink that hydrochloric acid!"

Pokémon Puzzle League: Nintendo for the Nintendo 64. Some random puzzle game with the Pokémon characters slapped on it. Man, they really are milking this one for everything it isn't worth.

Another Warner Brothers video game shown at E3 was an adaptation of Batman Beyond, according to www.gamefan.com.  The game will appear on the Nintendo 64 and PlayStation platforms, but no further information was available.  Gamefan did have a video of the game in action, however.  To view it, go to http://www.gamefan.com/gmx/1956/av/pre01.mpg

I've probably forgotten a few games... if you know of any more that got shown at E3, feel free to e-mail news@toonzone.net.
