Platypus Comix
• The Keiki adventure Deathburger in Paradise comes to a conclusion, with a denoument so out-of-left-field, you'll be left saying, "What is this guy on this week?"

Platypus Comix
• If there was ever a list of the worst movie sequels ever made (and there are probably at least 6,000 on the Internet already), Neverending Story III would surely rest near the top. Watch in horror as your childhood is violated and JACK BLACK DESTROYS FANTASIA!

Batman Beyond the Live-Action Movie!
Rembrandt
Sun, 20 Aug 2000 14:12:28 EDT

Ain't it Cool News reports that Warner Bros. is making a "Batman Beyond" live-action movie, and guess who's working on it.  I'll save the drama for when you read it. This is what the article said:

"Fantastic News Regarding BATMAN BEYOND live action feature
Hey folks, Harry here with some news that... well, it's the sort of thing
that we dance around and sing like happy monkeys for. Are you ready? No...
Alright, I'll wait. How about now? Still not ready? Daaaaamn, well get off
the pot. Alright... Here we go. BELIEVE IT OR NOT... Boaz Yakin, director of REMEMBER THE TITANS, PRICE ABOVE RUBIES and FRESH has been signed to be the director of... BATMAN BEYOND!!! Now I know, I know... Maybe not the choice you would've made... I know... Wachowski's... but ya know what, they're off making MATRIX 2 & 3 and producing KING CONAN... so get off of it... BESIDES... The great great GREAT news is yet to come. Seems that Lorenzo and the folks at Warners have decided to... grow a brain in a petry dish somewhere and they've hired.... wait for it.... a little longer... PAUL DINI and ALAN BURNETT to write the damn thing. According to my bug in Lorenzo's office, it has been revealed to me that basically Boaz, Paul and Alan have free reigns in the creative construction of the film... with a budget dependent upon the script that they deliver. This WILL be Boaz's next film with the three principle names mentioned getting ready to hole up in some writing abode to hammer out what... we can only imagine. With the BATMAN BEYOND: RETURN OF THE JOKER being rumored to be the hardest and most amazing animated film from the folks responsible for the single greatest incarnation in motion of a comic book hero... I EXPECT GREATNESS AND NOTHING ELSE!!!
Otherwise... they will... simply make a fantastic film and I'll be sad. No more crappy superhero films... let's make that a chant! Finally after year and years of doing the best damn writing for comics adaptations... Paul and Alan have finally been given the quill to write one for the big shield. NOW... if they just let them rule it... everything will be on the up and up.
Groovy? Groovy!"
