Saturday ratings: Fox, ABC tie; "Bugs.." Beats "MIB"
Rembrandt
Thu, 3 Aug 2000 20:48:04 EDT

This article from Zap2it.com reports on ratings from July 29.  Fox Kids and ABC tied, and "The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show" beat "Men In Black."  This past season, "MIB" was on a role, becoming the No. 5 on among children on Saturday mornings. Kids' WB! is losing a ton of steam and if this continues this fall, even a new "Pokemon" show will not be able to resurrect the lost ratings.   Here is the article concerning the ratings:

"Saturday, July 29, Fox Kids Network (Fox Kids) ranked No. 1 among all
broadcast competition posting a 2.3 rating/12 share with Kids 6-11 and a 2.2
rating/11 share with Kids 2-11, tying ABC. Fox Kids topped Kids WB by 21
percent with Kids 6-11 (2.3 vs. 1.9) and ABC by 21 percent (2.3 vs. 1.9). Fox
Kids also bested Kids WB by 29 percent with Kids 2-11 (2.2 vs. 1.7).

"Digimon: Digital Monsters" (10:30 AM/ET) was the No. 1 series among all
broadcast competition for Saturday morning with both Kids 6-11 posting a 3.9 rating/17 share and Kids 2-11 delivering a 3.5 rating/15 share. "Digimon:
Digital Monsters" also ranked No. 1 among broadcast time period competition besting Kids WB's "Wild Card 2" by 105 percent with Kids 6-11 (3.9 vs. 1.9) and 75 percent with Kids 2-11 (3.5 vs. 2.0).

"Digimon: Digital Monsters" (9:30 AM/ET) was the No. 1 series in its time
period among broadcast competition with both Kids 6-11 (2.3 rating/ 12 share) and Kids 2-11 (2.2 rating/ 12 share), topping Kids WB's "Pokemon" with Kids 6-11 (2.3 vs. 2.2) and Kids 2-11 (2.2 vs. 1.8).

"Flint The Time Detective" (9:00 AM/ET) was the No. 1 series in its time
period among broadcast competition with Kids 6-11 (2.9 rating/ 14 share),
topping Kids WB's "Cardcaptors" by 38 percent with Kids 6-11 (2.9 vs. 2.1)
and ABC's "One Saturday Morning" by 7 percent (2.9 vs. 2.7).

"Angela Anaconda" (11:00 AM/ET) also topped its time period broadcast
competition with Kids 6-11 (2.4 rating/ 11 share), besting Kids WB's "Men In
Black" by 33 percent (2.4 vs. 1.8) and ABC's "Bugs Bunny/Tweety Show" by 26 percent (2.4 vs. 1.9)."

One can only hope that Kids WB!'s fall shows show quality and draw big
ratings numbers.  Kids' WB! invested lots of money for the new shows and if
they fail, it could be a big hit to Kids' WB! as a whole.
